Many of these conditions are related to nervous system dysregulation and/or nutritional imbalances.
When nervous system regulation is restored it often results in feeling: calm, balanced, embodied, playful, happy, expanded, empowered, and that life is manageable. Danielle specializes in recognizing, tracking and helping clients restore nervous system regulation. She educates clients on how to utilize skills that help regulate the nervous system so that they can gain independence in their lives outside of therapy.
Danielle recognizes that some of the above symptoms can also result from nutritional imbalances. Nutritional imbalances can be a result of genetics, stress, substance abuse, drugs, or chemicals and toxins in the environment. She works with clients in determining key nutritional imbalances and educates her clients on how they can use nutrition (including amino acid therapy) to support health.
What is Body-Centered Psychotherapy?
Body-centered psychotherapy involves communicating with the body in addition to the mind. This type of therapy addresses the parts of the brain that are involved with trauma symptoms. This is done by bringing awareness to body sensations and impulses. As a result, the body can finally feel that the traumatic experiences are over and therefore symptoms can be resolved.
What is Somatic Experiencing®?
It is a naturalistic approach to healing trauma that restores health in the nervous system by integrating the mind and body. Somatic Experiencing® has been successful with releasing trauma symptoms such as: PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), anxiety, depression, anger, sleep difficulties, dissociation, and fatigue.
What is Play Therapy?
Children often try to resolve their problems through play. Play therapy uses play as a way to communicate with children and assist them in working through life challenges and trauma. Sand trays are also used to help children understand their challenges and find resolutions in a tangible way.
